TRAVERSE version 8.4/9.4 introduces two new applications:

Advanced Financial Analyst
Advanced Financial Analyst is a powerful financial reporting tool that automatically takes General Ledger data from TRAVERSE and imports it into Microsoft Excel, eliminating the need to manually transfer and massage data to get it into Excel.

Direct Deposit
Direct Deposit is an add-on to the TRAVERSE Payroll application that enables users to submit payroll deposits directly to the employee's bank accounts.

Also new to 8.4/9.4:

bulletYou can add new menu items that run reports, functions or media files created in virtually any Windows productivity tool (this makes it possible to set up customized menus for each user).
bulletExcel Spreadsheets and PivotTables can be opened right from the TRAVERSE menu. This version of TRAVERSE comes with more than 70 professionally authored PivotTables to get you started. Simply select the PivotTable you want and Microsoft Excel takes it from there, filling the PivotTable with the data and creating the report. And, since the data has been copied into Excel, you can also perform "What if" analysis. Simply change the data in the spreadsheet and refresh; a new report with the adjusted data is created instantly. The actual data remains secure in the TRAVERSE database.
bulletCall Word documents from the TRAVERSE menu. Using Word's mail merge function, you can compose a form letter and use your TRAVERSE data to fill in the details and define the mailing list.
bulletA new two-step installation process minimizes the impact on any customization that's been done to TRAVERSE. Step one is to select the applications you want to update. Select only those that have not been modified. This allows unmodified applications to take advantage of all the new features and maintenance updates. Step two is to select the objects you wish to update in each of the modified applications. The installation program provides you with an explanation of the changes made to each object. Update only those objects which have not been modified. All modified applications can take advantage of most of the new features. The new update process greatly reduces the need for re-coding customized applications after an update. You can customize confidently, without worrying about how you will take advantage of the new features later.
